5 Quiet Activities for Busy Toddlers

5 Quiet Activities for Busy Toddlers

My new mama’s know how important it is to entertain little ones once a new baby arrives. Entertaining a toddler while caring for a newborn is a balancing act and I am always looking for tools to help me throughout the day. If there is anything I am certain of, busy activities are life savers.

Nursing, diaper changes, baby bath time- these are all major attention grabbers for moms. Balancing this and your toddler’s need for attention can be simplified with a few busy, time-consuming activities. I’ve put together a list of five quiet activities that buy me a little time and patience while caring for little ones.

5 Quiet Activities for Busy Toddlers

Sensory Bin

My go to right now is this sensory bin from Amazon. The kit includes sand, water beads, sensory tools, and toys to encourage imagination. Bonus- it comes in different themes and runs about $19.99. That’s a steal! It has been safety tested and truly encourages them to use fine motor skills and sensory development. Porter will play for hours, building with the sand and playing with the little toys!

Little Tikes Trampoline

Want a way to keep littles entertained and burn off some extra energy? The little tikes tramp promotes exercise and in my opinion encourages a good nap! It’s small enough to keep inside, but big enough to really get in some good bounces! The big kids tend to love a little bounce on it too.

Farmers Market Set

I absolutely love helping my kids count and learn colors while we play! This set comes with different fruits & veggies and promotes sorting, recognition, and colors. There’s something so satisfying about watching a child comprehend what they are learning. Bonus- it’s SO fun to play fruit stand with them!

STEM Garden Kit

This cute little kit comes with a ton of pieces, is BPA free, and washable! They can “build” the flowers and learn the names of the different pieces. They can be played in sand, in the tub, or just within itself. And my personal fave- super easy to clean up!

Curious Columbus Quiet Book

This cute Curious Colombus Quiet Book is full of puzzles and quiet learning. It is Montessori based and has zippers and lace and so much more! Bonus- you can totally take it to church!

I definitely know how stressful it can feel to have to balance everyone needing your attention, while also taking care of yourself! I hope you find these activities helpful and take a little off your plate while taking care of a baby and a toddler. Amazon has totally been a lifesaver right now!

I would love to hear about your experiences with these cute toys! They have helped occupy my littles while I’m otherwise occupied and no one is left out. It has definitely kept me sane!
