Okay most of you probably know that I love makeup. I’m a complete girl’s girl at heart. Ever since I was young I loved experimenting with my mom’s makeup and have always loved trying new products. When I became a mom for the first time, I made a little bit of a shift in what types of products I used and what I wanted them to do for me, especially foundation!
For me, I became a harsher critic of my products and what I was willing to spend my time and money on. Mama ain’t got time to mess around with makeup that doesn’t look great, stay on all day, and help my skin (rather than damage it). I want to be able to give my babies all the kisses without having to clean makeup off of their clothes or cheeks. This is a real thing! Haha. So I have tried a lot of different brands and formulations. And I mean a lot! Some were duds, many were okay, and a few were total rockstars and therefore became my go-to’s. The Best Foundations for Busy Moms
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+
My Review: This one is a game changer, mamas! This CC cream quickly became my everyday makeup thanks to its’ full coverage, lightweight feel, and high SPF. They’ve recently released a wider shade range so it’s easier to find a match for your skin and I love to apply it using a damp complexion sponge.
WHY I LOVE IT:
- Medium-full coverage
- Natural dewy finish
- Pump bottle with cap (easy to travel with or bring on the go)
- Anti-aging ingredients I love like hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, and more.
- SPF 50+: Seriously, it doesn’t get better than this in foundations!
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
My Review: If I’m going out for a date with hubby, or taking photos, or attending an event, etc., this foundation is what I’m wearing 99% of the time. It’s my tried and true full coverage foundation. And what makes it so great? It lasts ALL DAY LONG. No joke, I know a lot of women that have worn this on their wedding day, it’s that impressive! When it comes to a long-lasting, gorgeous finish, this one’s the best. I’ve applied it with a flat top foundation brush or complexion sponge (or both) and love it both ways! The complexion sponge just gives slightly less coverage as it absorbs some of the product.
WHY I LOVE IT:
- Come’s in a really wide selection of shades and undertones (and doesn’t oxidize or turn orange or pink)
- Flawless finish with minimal caking
- Natural/Matte Finish
- Waterproof (Hi sweaty summer days!)
- Transfer-resistant
- Pro Tip: The MAC foundation pump (sold separately) fits on the Estee Lauder bottle so that you don’t get messy hands every time you apply! And wrap this one in a towel or washcloth when traveling to prevent breakage.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Flow Foundation
My Review: This budget-friendly foundation is comparable to a lot of high end foundations I’ve tried! So impressed! I love using this foundation for when I want a full coverage dewy look and I love it during the winter when my skin can tend to be more dry. Definitely try it with a complexion sponge and set with a loose translucent powder and you’ll be good to glow!

Lawless Woke Up Like This Flawless Finish Foundation
My Review: Lawless topped one of my favorite new beauty brands in 2018 and this foundation is no exception. The natural finish on this buildable foundation is so gorgeous (it looks like skin!) and I love that the ingredients list is Clean and free of any harsh or damaging chemicals.
WHY I LOVE IT:
- The clean ingredients list
- Flawless fresh finish (natural with a hint of radiance)
- Medium/Full buildable coverage so I can layer where I need more coverage without getting cakey
