When planning Truman’s 1st birthday party, I wanted to find something that fit him perfectly! He is so full of personality and fun- and seriously WILD. So we thought “Truman Turns Wild One” would be perfect! I immediately hit up pinterest and found this party from Style Me Pretty. It was so incredibly cute, I immediately fell in love! I used their idea as the base of the party and then of course added things to make it our own!
I was able to work with a few awesome vendors that I LOVED working with! First up- Pretty Little Paper Co did the invites and “Thank You” stickers. If you need invites or anything of that sort… Use her! Seriously. She did an amazing job and was so fun and easy to work with. She totally took the idea and theme I wanted to go with and surpassed my expectations. Our invites were beautiful and simple and I absolutely loved them!
Next, The Banner Shoppe did the “Truman” and “Wild One” banners & the little felt balls and tassel garland! They were seriously the cutest. They tied everything in together perfectly! She was also so incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure they were perfect and here in time for Tru’s party. I can’t say enough good things about this darling shop!!
For all of my Houston peeps- Get Caked TX did Truman’s cake and it was SO PERFECT! I seriously think it made the party and was the perfect center piece. And the flavors were AMAZING! The bottom layer was double fudge cake with chocolate mousse and strawberry fillings, the middle layer was chocolate with peanut butter filling, and then the top layer was white chocolate cake with raspberry and lemon buttercream fillings. SO beautifully delicious!!!
We wanted to incorporate some natural and wild elements so the cake topper and wooden stumps/cake stands were perfect. I found a few of them at Home Goods, one at Hobby Lobby, and I borrowed a couple from a friend as well! I think they were a great touch. We kept the food simple- just burgers and hot dogs(Truman’s favs!) I served the chips in individual brown bags with a “wild one” stamp I had made from Etsy. The veggies were served in little fruit cartons that I bought from Ebay… They were one of my favorite details from the party.

It was so fun to plan this party and see it come together! I have to give a shoutout to my amazing mama who is seriously beyond amazing in all things design. She helped me so much and I couldn’t have done it without her. The party was the perfect way to celebrate our sweetest babe & pride and joy! He loved the party and had such a great time. We feel so thankful to have had so many loved ones there to help celebrate our sweet boy. It will definitely be a day to remember and I couldn’t have been happier with the results & great time spent with the best of friends and family. Thank you to all (from the very bottom of our hearts) who helped make Truman’s “Wild One” party so special- we LOVE you all! Xoxo
