Summer is here & we are enjoying the beautiful weather + sunshine. Because we have such cold & long winters, we really try to soak up our beautiful summers! We basically live outside and even eat dinner most nights out on the deck. Our deck has easily become one of my favorite spots! It feels so calm and peaceful, and they kids LOVE being outside.
Making a house a home takes time and after two years, I really had a vision of what I wanted the outdoor space to look like. My style for this home is transitional- I love the classic traditional style, with modern and clean touches. I knew I wanted some natural elements, but also wanted our white brick exterior to really pop! My mom helped me design and put everything together via FaceTime (like we do most of my home design projects, haha!) and I am so happy with how it turned out.
MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check
I love that our deck continues with the vibe of the inside of our home. Natural wood, classic black and white touches, with lots of plants (you guys know how much I LOVE my plants, haha!) … & of course, some touches of MacKenzie-Childs!
I have been a MC fan for YEARS & absolutely love their selection of pots and outdoor pieces. I did a mix of the different MacKenzie-Childs pots filled with some pretty succulents and flowers. Some of the pots I have included the 8″ Courtly Check Flower Pot and Courtly Check Enamel Garden Pot – Extra Large I also added this pretty Cable Wool / Sisal Rug – 3′ x 5′ door mat, a set of these Butterfly Pillow – Black & White, a set of the Poppy Outdoor Accent pillows and I think it really ties the whole look in together. I absolutely love the contrast of the black and white with the greens of our plants.
If you’ve been around here for awhile, then you know of my deep love for MC. I’ve been collecting their pieces for years and I love how unique and truly stunning they are.
