November Family Traditions
Happy November, ya’ll! Can you believe it?! I feel like fall is flying by, but I’m trying to soak up every minute of this month. November is always one of my favorite months and one that I really look forward to each year. I like to center our home around being thankful and counting each of our many blessings, big or small. We always do some form of a “thankful tree” and I’m loving ours this year so wanted to share it here on the blog. It’s so, so easy + my kids love it so much.
Every morning we write something we’re thankful for and hang it up on the tree. I love that I can look at it all day everyday and remind my kids what Thanksgiving is truly about! So far we’ve come up with: love, family, sports, our Savior, school & learning, grandparents, friends & our home. I can’t wait to see how full our tree is at the end of the month!
We are doing a special November “family night” this weekend to kick off this month. We are surprising the kids and taking them to their favorite restaurant and a movie. Moreover, we love family time and they will love getting to go out on a little date night!
During November we always do a service project as a family. I love this November family tradition and love to include the kiddos. Truman really “gets it” these last couple of years and I love that he gets excited about it, too. There are so many ways to serve those around you or your community!
We always go see the SLC Temple lights the last weekend of November. They are truly magical!! We get dinner with my in-laws and then go see the lights and my kids LOVE it. We call it our Christmas kick-off and it’s the best way to get into the Christmas spirit!
So I am hoping to find some fun November run to do this month as well!
We are also currently planning a “Friendsgiving” so hoping we can pull that off before we leave town for the holiday!
