Native Deodorant Review
*Thank you to Native for patterning on this post!
Aluminum-free deodorant is a hot topic right now & one that I can definitely get behind. A few weeks ago, my friend, Leanne Barlow, challenged me to do the 14 day Native Deodorant challenge where I only use their 5-star deodorant with over 10,000 reviews + I gladly accepted. I am all about knowing what ingredients are in the products that I am using and have worked on making good switches to more clean products the last few years- for myself & my family. So I think it is fabulous that people are starting to really pay attention to ingredients and choose better alternatives. I personally have used clean deodorants on and off for a couple of years. While pregnant, I had a bad reaction to one I was using so stopped for a bit.
I have tried many different brands and while I did like some better than others, I have to say Native is by far my favorite. I would say a major difference in some of the aluminum and paraben-free deodorants I have tried is the textures- some are a gel, some have a little bit of a rough feeling and Native is a solid that goes on smooth. And I have fairly sensitive skin, so I really appreciate that! Everybody is different, so find what works for YOU!
About Native Deodorant
Native’s deodorant are aluminum + paraben free… um yes please! They also never test on animals + are gluten free. It is filled with good + wholesome ingredients that you can understand. They offer a variety of different scents that smell amazing! I personally am loving the Coconut & Vanilla + the Lavender & Rose- the Cucumber & Mint is next to try on my list. (They also have some fun seasonal scents that I want to try!) If you are more into the unscented, they have unscented options for you as well. *If you have a baking soda sensitivity, Native has a sensitive version of its deodorants specifically for those who want a baking soda free formula. They make their famous Coconut & Vanilla in a sensitive version along with scents like Cotton & Lily, Unscented, Sweet Almond & Honey – these formulas all do not contain baking soda.

My Experience
I honestly loved the challenge and had fun making the switch! I think because I have been testing the waters with clean deodorants, I didn’t really struggle with a detox period. The first couple of days I did feel like I needed to reapply later in the afternoon, but after that was fine. I really put it to the test at my AM sweaty workout classes and still smelt great (thankfully, haha!) (If you do find yourself needing a detox- use a bentonite clay mask. Aztec secret was highly recommended by ya’ll) When chatting with some people who have made the switch, I was surprised to learn that most people are able to make the switch instantly without any problems. I have loved it and really feel good about using something with good ingredients! Native just feels cleaner + simpler and I am all about that.
And for the exciting part… Sid started the challenge with me and I am happy to report he says he’s a Native believer, haha! He has loved it and I am so happy about that. He also didn’t experience a detox period and was using a regular deodorant before. We both are active and like to go to the gym + he didn’t have any problems! I got a couple questions on the difference between the women’s and men’s deodorants and the only difference are the scents. Both have the same high-performance formula!
If you are wanting to try Native or join in on the 14 day challenge I would love to hear how you like it + you can get a discount now with the code destiny20. Good luck!
