Tatum’s Details
Hi babes! How was your weekend? Ours was so great. We had some good family time and lots and lots of chill time with the kids. Those are my favorite kind of days. As much as I am a go, go, go type of gal, I am also a home body. I have been a little more distant on instagram as of late, mostly because I have been so busy with the kids and family & have felt the need to really focus my time on them. They will always be my number one. I have always said, I am a wife and mama first and treasure that more than anything.
Most of you see just a few moments into our days. You don’t see the whole picture and I think that’s always important to remember. I am just another mom, trying to juggle life. I’m not always ready. I wear sweats and pjs just like you. Instagram is a highlight reel- we tend to post of best + happiest moments! And that is basically what it is. I mean no one wants to post the “bad days” or moments when after all, I look at social media as an uplifting and inspiring space and as my means of sharing of my passions. But, I promise I have those not so good days, days where I feel overwhelmed or sad, or days that I just don’t feel like getting ready. Just keep that in mind & don’t compare yourself to others on the internet. YOU are worth so much more than that.
This year I am focusing on being happy + making sure my family is happy first. I want to treasure every second I have with my sweet babies.. they are growing wayyy too quickly! Being home with them is my happy place. Nothing brings me more joy than being able to spend my days teaching them, caring for them, playing with them, and most importantly… loving them. “The most important of the Lord’s work that you will ever do will be the work you do within the walls of your own home.”—Harold B. Lee
When we get home from errands, school, work, etc, we always change into our comfies! Tru literally strips down and runs upstairs to grab his pjs, haha. We love it! I recently found these joggers from Nordstrom & absolutely love them! They are so soft and cozy, but they’re also so cute and you can also totally wear them out and about without looking like you’re in your pajamas if you need to run an errand. I love shopping at Nordstrom for the kid’s because the quality is so good. The clothes last through washes and stay nice, which is always important.
We ordered Tatum’s pj’s from there and they’re seriously so adorable! They have some darling cute options for baby pj’s right now (linked them above!) & these bows are some of our most favorites and they come in the cutest colors! Tatum’s hair is starting to get so long, so I am trying to figure out how to style it… I am only used to doing Tru’s hair, so we are all about the bows still and these bows make it so easy and they’re extremely soft and comfortable for her to wear!
Anyways, I just want to tell you ladies that I am so glad you are here + I am always thankful for your sweet words & support. I always want this to be a space to inspire you in some way! THANK YOU for stopping by & I hope you have a wonderful week! Tru is back to school, I’ll be busy preparing for a retreat I am speaking at this weekend, and Sid is heading to Houston for work, so it’s sure to be a busy week over here. I am excited and ready to make this week a good one. I think Mondays tend to get a bad rap, but I kind of love them. It’s the perfect time to get motivated, stay positive, & live every day with intention! XO
*Thanks to Nordstrom for partnering on this post!
Destiny, you are one of the best and most genuine blogger out there. I really enjoyed this post. What you say is so true and it is important to remind us that Instagram is just one selected piece of the puzzle. I find you very inspiring in every way and I love that your posts are so thoughtful, respectful and deep. Love you girl. You are gold!
