Ever since I was a little girl, I have always admired my mom and her incredible hosting/party throwing skills. She always knew how to put the special touches on something to make it just perfect. Now, I too have grown a love for throwing fun events, parties, or get togethers. I have to admit, I still ask my mom for help on these things because she is seriously GOOD. I crack up every time I’m in Vegas and share little snippets of her house or something she’s put together and I get SO many questions from my followers! Now that I am older, something my mom and I really bond on and love doing together is putting together parties or get togethers or whatever it may be! I learn so much from her each time and I love that we “get each other” and can spend time together doing something so fun.
Along with my love of party throwing, I have a SERIOUS love for dishware, platters, dessert towers, etc. I love collecting gorgeous pieces that I can keep forever. I have always been a huge fan of MacKenzie-Childs, but when I saw this pattern, I knew I had to have some pieces from the collection. This line is perfect for all spring and summer events! I think it would be perfect for Easter, spring or summer get togethers, bridal or baby showers, and for a Mother’s Day celebration, or even for every day use! MacKenzie-Childs pieces are not only gorgeous, but they’re timeless and I am so excited to have any excuse to use these beautiful pieces! I will not be with my mama for Mother’s Day this year (boo-hoo!), but since my mama was in town this last week, I thought we would celebrate early and that it would be fun to share some inspo for next weekend in case any of you are planning a fun Mother’s Day lunch for your moms!
I wanted to keep the meal simple. We went with chicken salad croissants (delish!!), a simple fruit salad, my mother-in-laws cabbage salad (a household fav over here), and a few yummy desserts! My gorgeous MacKenzie-Childs dishes were seriously perfect for this occasion. From the gorgeous platters, to the dessert tower, each piece is SO unique and beautiful! I was able to keep the decor super simple since this line is a gorgeous statement in itself. If you haven’t checked out Mackenzie-Childs, you MUST. Their pieces are to die for! Do any of you do a fun brunch/lunch/dinner for your mamas on Mother’s Day?!
I know there are certain dishes and things that bring back sweet tender moments and memories that I want my mom to give me one day and I know these pieces will be pieces that I will use throughout the years and enjoy with my family and that I can hand down to my sweet Tatum one day, too! There’s something sentimental about being able to hand down something that is a reminder of all of the fun times had and sweet memories made.
I love Mother’s Day because I love celebrating one of the most important people to me. My mom is my best friend. She encourages me, inspires me, and loves me unconditionally. I am thankful for her & the example she is to me. I hope to be half the mother she is one day and I hope that my children love and admire me as much as I do her! I love you, mama!
And because so many of you asked for the recipe when I snapped it on insta stories, here you go! It’s definitely one of our favs 🙂
