First Few Weeks With Baby - Baby Schedule

Hi, beautiful friends!

I thought it would be fun to do a little chit chat over here and update you on how our first month with baby #3 has been. I’ve been meaning to get on and update sooner, but by the time I get on at night to work on my blog I am exhausted (I swear the second I sit down for the day, I totally fall asleep haha!) One amazing and crazy month has gone by since we welcomed our sweet Porter Scott into the world. What a month it has been! This perfect little baby’s arrival was highly anticipated in our family and it has been so much fun getting to know our baby boy. He is sweet as can be, a MAJOR cuddle bug and prefers to be held at all times (I don’t mind and am soaking up all the baby cuddles- there’s really nothing better than holding your baby allll day long!), loves to eat all the time, and is starting to smile!

Adjusting To Baby #3

I will say that going from 2 kids to three has definitely been the hardest. We are busy as ever, but in the best way. I think we really have our hands full right now because Truman and Tatum are in a very busy stage. We joke that having a newborn is actually a breeze and our older two are the ones keeping us on the go 😉 It has been go, go, go with Truman and Tatum, but Porter has been a total champ and is sooo chill + just goes with the flow and I am SO thankful for that! I love wearing him in our solly baby wrap when we have busy days and I know he loves being close to me (he’s totally already a mama’s boy and I am obsessed with it!!). Sleep deprivation isn’t too bad and we are getting through it.

I think the hard part is having to wake up early with the other two kids and be on my A game first thing in the morning. Sid and I are a great team and I am thankful for the amazing dad he is to our kids. He had to get back to his work travel schedule when Porter was just two weeks old, but is really helpful and hands on when he is home. We love our kids so much and have been so happy (and also veryyyy tired, haha) this last month. We are extremely thankful for Porter, as he is the perfect addition to our family.

How Siblings Are Adjusting

Let’s talk about our cute family members and how they are adjusting! Truman has been AMAZING. He seems so much older to me in the last month and has been the best little helper. Yesterday, he surprised me and came downstairs from his bedroom dressed for school all on his own and I just about melted! He’ll be 5 this month and I am just so proud of him. He LOVES being a big brother and is always looking out for his siblings. He says, “Oh my gosh mom, Porter is soooo cute! I just can’t stand it!”

Tatum is adjusting well, too! She loves her baby brother so much. She has her days where she is a little sassy pants and needs some extra attention, but she’s also just two years old and learning to communicate and let us know how she’s feeling. I try really hard to give her some good one on one attention during the day when it’s just us three at home and Truman is at school. I usually get a couple of hours a day with just her while Porter naps.I take my time putting her to bed at night (we read lots of books and say prayers and cuddle a little before I put her down). We went on a little girls date this week to get her nails done and it was so fun. I will definitely continue to do little activities one on one with each of the kids.

Newborn Schedule

Since having Porter, we have been super busy but have tried to stick to schedules for all of our kids. We have been on a pretty good schedule with him and are adjusting well. He’s eating every couple of hours and still sleeping a lot. He falls asleep really easily (is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?! He is such a little exagerrated sleeper and coos and sighs and we just melt) and I know he will get better at sleeping at night. Since he is our third, he really just goes with the flow! We are just getting the hang of juggling lots of dirty diapers, feedings on the go, sponge baths (he loves them!), and spending lots of time at home soaking up this newborn stage…the BEST.

Products We Love

We love our carseat + stroller! Our carseat is light and he is nice and comfortable in it! We love taking a walk every day to get some fresh air (the weather is finally warm here!)

I use this baby wrap daily! I love getting things done while also cuddling baby P.

We use this sleep sack and it’s sooo great! A must have.

We are working on his nursery and will share details soon…stay tuned!

I love this diaper bag– holds everything you need.

See my other baby must haves here.

And I love these pictures that we took when Porter was just a few days old! We are just obsessed with his sweet little face and all that dark hair. We think he is the perfect combo of both Tru & Tate!
