I think Mother Nature finally got the memo that it is time for fall weather! While we have been enjoying some brisk mornings and cool evenings, the afternoons were still a tad warm. However, it was nice getting a little more wear out of some summer items by layering pieces throughout the day! The kids’ closets are finally transitioned to fall and I have some tips on how to get the most wear out of your favorite fall clothes for kids!
OUTERWEAR & ACCESSORIES
Perhaps the best part about fall is all the layering! Jackets and cardigans can add so much to an outfit and are necessary to keep the littles warm. Tatum looks adorable in her knee high, knit socks and have you seen the matching toboggans Porter + I have? Swoon! Scarves are another great way to add texture and warmth to an outfit! Transition these items over into winter months so that you get plenty of wear out of your kid’s clothes.
DRESSES
Tatum loves to wear dresses because they are just so easy + comfy! They are also great for the mamas who are in potty training season. Double win! You can glam it up with some tights and a faux fur coat or be more casual in some booties! It is nice to have one piece that can be very versatile!
TOPS
Again, SO MANY OPTIONS! Flannels, henleys, sweaters, hoodies and special occasion tees! You can layer with them or wear solo. Sweaters are not just for girls either; Tru has a couple that are super stylish + cozy! Wear a flannel buttoned-up, open over a tshirt or around the waist! Then you have Halloween and Thanksgiving apparel that make the holidays extra fun! What kid doesn’t love a cool, festive tee?
BOTTOMS
Is there anything better than a pair of jeans that fit just right? Jeans can be a deal-breaker for some kids but Truman loves this brand! I think the slim fit looks stylish on him and can make for a dressier outfit when need be. Leggings are a staple that can span many seasons and joggers that feel like pajamas receive ZERO qualms from my kiddos!
SHOES
Boots, tennis shoes, flats, moccasins and even unicorn slip-ons! I’m going to link a lot of great options. Tatum is obsessed with these unicorn shoes! I may have to do some bribing to get her to wear something else. How do you handle your kids if they only ever want to wear one thing over and over and over? Lol.
PAJAMAS
Saturday mornings are all the better spent in your pajamas until noon and they make family movie night even more cozy + special! I listed a couple options for Halloween here! Thanksgiving is approaching which means a lot of family time and staying up a little later past bedtime. It is more acceptable if they are in ‘stuffed turkey’ pjs, right?
