Disney Cruise
Alright ya’ll.. let’s talk Disney Cruise!! I was so happy to receive so many awesome questions about the cruise + hear about so many of you that have taken a cruise with Disney & have also LOVED it, so I am especially excited to share this post today! I seriously had the best time with Truman and our sweet friends. The cruise was absolutely incredible. I can’t say this enough! Disney really pays attention to every detail. We were on the Disney Dream and it was such a gorgeous ship.
Where We Stayed + Transportation
We got in on a Sunday and had a private car pick us up with a booster ready for Truman. If you call ahead, you can definitely request a carseat or booster! We checked into the hotel and then went straight to Disney World for a fun few hours. We definitely want to go back!! It is HUGE. The kids enjoyed a few rides + some treats before we headed back to the hotel (we had a long travel day + wanted to make sure they were rested for the next day). We stayed at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa & it was amazing. A remarkably beautiful hotel and the location is great! The next morning we took a shuttle over to the cruise port. Our kiddos kept busy with toys, books, and also the best play-doh kit!
Activities For The Kiddos
We really loved the cruise because there were SO many fun things to do for the kiddos. Sometimes planning activities can be so stressful while on vacation, but Disney really makes it super easy. We downloaded the Disney Cruise App which easily lays out all the schedules for the day. You can see which characters will be where at what time, when fun activities for the kids will be held, where and when dinner is, etc. The ship has two pools and one that is perfect for little kids (Mickey’s Pool) who just like to splash around- where we spent most of our time! They also have a great splash pad ( Nemo’s Reef) that Truman especially loved. Our kids really loved Goofy’s Sports Deck, too!
They played mini golf and it was the cutest thing. The kids club is also just awesome! Truman loved it + always had so much fun in there. We used it a handful of times and they enjoyed it every time. I’m not sure if you caught my insta stories, but there is a fun colorful dance floor in there that all the kids just go crazy for. We really loved that there were lots of organized activities and crafts to do for them in there, as well. I was really surprised at how much Truman loved meeting the characters + he says Donald was definitely his favorite.
We were also fortunate to have a little extra fun because the week we went was the first week of Halloween On The High Seas. They put together a super fun night where the kids (and adults!!) got to dress up and go trick-or-treating around the ship. The characters also got into costume and there was a fun dance party… Truman was there for it, haha. He danced & danced & danced and I loved it! There is a fun pirate night, as well, so definitely remember to bring a fun costume for this special night. They give cute Mickey bandanas to every one to use, too. Here is Truman’s pirate costume! 🙂 There are also live shows + a movie theater that is great for both the kids and adults. So fun!
Activities For The Adults
When you think of Disney Cruises, you probably automatically think they’re perfect for the littles, and of course they are! Watching your child have the time of their life is amazing in itself, but still theres SO much to offer adults, as well! The spa is gorgeous and so relaxing. Ailee and I snuck away for a pedicure and it was unreal. The whole experience was way better than any pedicure I have ever gotten! We heard about their massages and they sounded heavenly..definitely wishing we would’ve booked one of those too, ha! All of the food was great!
We had dinner one night at Palo which was such a great experience.. seriously so delicious! Definitely book a dinner there if you go. The whole experience was just awesome. Of course there are adults only lounges + pools to enjoy, as well. The shows are amazing and such a great time. While we were there the were running the live production of Beauty And The Beast…incredible for all ages! There is a state of the art gym, but sadly we were only able to make time to go to once, but it was fantastic. There are plenty of machines + I loved running while watching the water. We even saw some dolphins while we were running. So cool! There are also fun classes for adults that you can sign up for, as well.
Disney Dream Staterooms
Our room was definitely family friendly and so cute and dreamy. We had a balcony we could go sit out on and watch the water, which was stunning, especially at sunset! There was of course a normal sized bed, which Ailee and I shared most of the nights. There is a sofa that turns into a bunk bed and the kids LOVED that. I think that was one of their only arguments.. deciding who got to sleep on the top bunk, haha. There was plenty of storage room in the closets + under the bed, where we kept our luggage so that we could keep our room neat and tidy!
The Best Time
We had such a blast and I can not wait to go back with the whole family. The entire Disney Cruise experience is just a DREAM and so MAGICAL, something I am so thankful Truman and I were able to experience. If you have been thinking about booking a cruise with Disney, DO it! It is like no other cruise. There is truly something for everyone and a variety of so much fun. It was a magical time. Have you been on a Disney Cruise?! I would love to hear about your experiences and favorite parts, so please share!
Thanks for stopping by! XOXO
