6 Spooky Halloween Meal Ideas

Halloween meals are some of my absolute favorites to make for the kiddos, and my hubby enjoys them too! It is so fun to spice our meals up to be festive with the current holiday. Bonus- these meals can also be healthy! It’s actually easier for me to get my kids to eat their veggies, if they look like jackolanterns, ghosts, or skeletons.

6 Spooky Halloween Meal Ideas

Breakfast

Halloween breakfast is so easy and fun while everyone is home on a weekend! One of my favorites is the Monster face smoothies. They are SO easy!

Monster Mash Green Smoothies

  • All you need is a permanent marker, a plastic cup, and your go-to green smoothie recipe.
  • Simple as this- draw a silly face, monster face, or scary face on the outside of the glass and pour up a smoothie. I usually go for a frankenstein face with a spinach and fruit smoothie.

Mummified Eggs

  • Take an over hard egg (this would probably work on scrambled eggs as well), thick shredded cheese (we love the Tillamook farmstyle for this), and some of those edible eyes and voila!
  • Cook the eggs, layer the shredded cheese in a pattern to mimic mummy wrappings and add eyes. So yummy and so fun! Serve with toast, waffles or pancakes.

Lunch

Spooky Sandwiches

  • Take any lunch sandwich and make it more fun!  All you need is your sandwich fixings and a spooky cookie cutter.
  • Make your sandwich and use a large ghost, jack o’lantern, or other spooky cookie cutter to cut off the crusts.  Super cute and fast!

Tomato Soup and A Oooey Gooey Grilled Cheese

  • Same idea as above, but a little more toasty!
  • Heat or cook your tomato soup on the stove while you toast grilled cheese sandwiches.  We love to use specialty breads and cheeses to mix things up.  When they’re finished cooking, cut them into cute shapes using a cookie cutter.

Dinner

Jack o Lantern Stuffed Peppers

  • Easy, healthy, and so cute!  You’ll need orange bell peppers, ground turkey or beef, taco seasoning, and onions, red and green bell peppers or any other taco fillings you’d like.  We love to add shredded cheese at the top!
  • Prepare these by carefully cutting off the top of the bell peppers and taking out all the seeds, similarly to how you would with a pumpkin.  Then prepare your taco meat in a skillet, browning the meat and sauteeing the veggies.  Once prepared, fill your hollowed bell peppers with your taco filling and top with shredded cheese. Broil in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese and you’re done!

Pumpkin Pizza

  • Okay, this has to be the easiest of them all! Many pizza places will make jack-o-lantern pizzas where they arrange the pepperoni in a jackolantern shape or you can do it yourself at home.  Super easy and the kids will love it!

I would absolutely love to hear about what fun meals you make for Halloween time! If you use any of these ideas, I would love a picture! You definitely don’t have to stray too far from normal recipes. It’s just a simple spice up moment to make it festive!
