5 Simple Last Minute Gift Ideas
T-minus eight days until Christmas and we are just about past the time frame to order gifts online, unless they’re from Amazon. Oh my gosh, what would we do without Amazon Prime you guys? It’s maybe one of the best things about 2020, IMO. But if you are in a pinch and needing a great last minute gift idea (who doesn’t), I’ve put together a list of my five favorite gift ideas that would be so much fun to give and receive!
Just because these gift ideas are last minute does not mean that they have to feel impersonal. I love to dress up gift cards, certificates, and paper gifts by wrapping them in small pretty packages like gift bags with tissue or gift boxes with shredded paper filling. Spending 5 minutes on a presentation always helps me feel like I’m letting the person know that they’re important to me.
Boutique Gym Class Pass or Fitness Experience
If there’s anything that 2020 has taught us all, it’s that health is more important than anything. And goodbye are the days of only big box gyms that can feel intimidating and boring. One of my favorite last minute gift ideas for the fitness buff or adventurous couple on your list is a class pass to a boutique gym in their area. There are so many to choose from in major cities and you can really select one that you think fits their ability level and interest. Here are a few ideas you may consider, all you have to do is Google “cycling classes in my area”, for example.
- Cycling
- Boxing or Kickboxing
- Yoga or Pilates
- HIGH Fitness
- Crossfit
- Functional Training
- Aerial Silks
Storyworth
If you haven’t heard of StoryWorth yet, this makes such an amazing gift for not only a parent or grandparent, but for your entire family. StoryWorth is a really cool service that emails your loved one once a week for an entire year with a story prompt. It collects their personal stories, in their own words, each week, and emails them to you and anyone in your family that would like to read them. After the year is over, it compiles their personal memoir of small stories in a beautiful book for your family to keep forever.
Now, I don’t know about you, but reading about my parents and grandparents lives sounds like the best gift I could ever receive and to have in a book that my children can read one day is so beautiful. This is not an ad, I just think it is the coolest gift idea EVER.
AirBnB Gift Card
Being cooped up at home for an entire year can really get to you! Give the gift of a contribution to a staycation or vacation for your loved one by snagging them an AirBnB gift card. The cool thing about this is that they can choose where they want to go, when they want to use it, and all of the details of their trip so that it’s super comfortable to them. AirBnB has done so much to ensure the health and safety of their patrons so that they can travel with peace of mind. For someone you know who is jonesing to get out of town, this makes an awesome gift.
Dinner In A Basket
This gift idea requires a little more planning but I think it makes such a lovely gift. I love to visit my local high end grocery store and find the ingredients for a beautiful dinner that my loved one can put together easily when they’re ready. Target’s Good and Gather line now makes beautifully packaged hand-made dried pasta noodles that would be beautiful and tasty in a basket with a jar of pesto, alfredo, or marinara of your choosing, a wedge of parmesan cheese, truffle olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a loaf of french bread from your local bakery. Can you imagine the yummy smells in their home as they make their meal? Yum.
A Favorite Subscription Service
The gift that keeps on giving! There are so many amazing subscription services for literally ANYTHING you can think of, you’re sure to find something to suit the needs of your loved one this holiday season. For women and teens, the Billie subscription is a favorite of mine (their razors are unreal). For the book lover, an Audible subscription is something I seriously will never get enough of. And for foodies, there are amazing snack subscription services that will deliver new snacks to them each month. Talk about happy mail!
I hope that some of these ideas help you in this gift giving season and I hope you have a beautiful Christmas with your family this year.
