Occasion Dressing With Express

Summer is right around the corner and so are all of the fun special occasions coming up (think graduation, summer weddings, bridal showers, summer parties, banquets, weekend getaways, special date nights, etc, etc..). Dresses are definitely my go-to for special occasion looks and I know I can always count on a few different stores to find the perfect dress for any occasion and Express is one of them. Express has a variety of dresses for so many different occasions! This one would be gorgeous to wear for your upcoming graduation, this one would be perfect for a summer party or to throw over a swimsuit , and if you are a summer bride, this dress would be beautiful for your bridal shower! I am attending my baby sister’s graduation in a few weeks and have my eye on this dress. The options are endless at Express.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect dress for a night out with my husband to celebrate some exciting things happening at work. Being a mom, I don’t get to go all out on dressing up very often, so when I get the chance, I take it. When I saw this dress, I knew it was the perfect match. It is super flattering and the detailing is amaaazing. The black, white, and gold colors are incredibly stunning and would compliment anyone! & who doesn’t love a little sequin dress?!

When choosing a dress, think about the occasion, what you’ll be doing, where the event is being held, what time of the day it is at, etc. If an event is being held during the day, I tend to go for softer colors and a more casual look (and definitely less sparkle). At night, I am not afraid to get glam and wear a dress like this one to make a statement. For our special date night, I knew we were going to start our celebration at our favorite restaurant, The Capital Grille (their lobster mac & cheese and coconut cream pie are to die for!!), and then to a show! It was in the evening and I felt comfortable being a little bit more dressed up than I normally would for a date night. I thoroughly enjoyed this evening and theres no doubt I felt confident in my Express dress! It is crucial to wear what you feel comfortable in and rock it!
