With the hustle & bustle of the holidays, I have found myself really wanting to slow down and spend some really amazing, quality time with my family. I have’t been on my phone much this week and it’s felt so good! I think it’s so important to unplug + really enjoy & treasure those around you. I know I want to make the best and most special memories with my babes…they’re only little once and it truly goes by wayyy too quickly. As much as I love being a go, go, go kinda girl, this week you bet I’ll be slowing down and cherishing every minute of family time! Here are 4 things I love to do during the holidays to unplug + enjoy my time:
Reconnect With Loved Ones:
We always make sure to spend lots of time during our visits seeing our family and best friends! It’s been so awesome to see our friends we don’t get to see often while we have been here! I love seeing everyone’s babies and hearing what’s new. Making time for those special relationships is key.
I feel my best when I get to get a little bit of exercise in each day! It’s been so fun going to the gym for an hour with Sid this week. Exercising gives you that little bit of alone time to really disconnect and work on yourself. I love how I feel after a workout. It clears my mind and helps me to be a more present + happier mama, as well. I also love getting a head start on those New Years goals!
With our move, house plans, finding an apartment, taking care of the kiddos, & working, I have felt a little run down. After putting the kids to bed, I have loved taking a hot shower every night and getting into bed early this week! It has given me time to really relax and catch up on rest. I already feel refreshed and so much better. I know it’s so hard to find the time to rest during the holidays, but I feel like it’s so important so that you can avoid that post holiday funk!
When you’re busy preparing for the holidays, the fun things that you enjoy doing often get put on the back burner. For example, I love to read and love a good podcast! This week, I have enjoyed putting on my favorite podcasts while I get ready or workout. What are some of your favorite listens?! I’d love to hear!
There is nothing that brings me more joy than when I serve others. During the holidays, I especially think it’s important. No matter how big or small the act of service is, I promise it’ll bring you joy and peace!
What are some ways you slow down and really enjoy the holidays?! XO
